My Story
My name is Isabella Castro, a first-generation Colombian-American born in Florida. Growing up as the child of immigrants, I developed a unique perspective on the world by learning to navigate the cultural differences between my Colombian heritage and US upbringing. This experience ignited my passion for global affairs and diplomacy, as I strive to break down preconceived boundaries and emphasize our shared humanity.

I am currently a student at the University of Florida, majoring in International Studies with a concentration in Europe and minoring in Latin American Studies. My ultimate goal is to pursue a career in government, particularly in diplomacy and also one day work with refugees and displaced communities.

Additionally, language has always been a central part of my life. My father spoke no English, and as his translator, I came to understand the profound role language plays in fostering connection and breaking down cultural barriers. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and French, and I am currently in my first semester of studying Russian. In the future, I hope to continue learning additional languages to further bridge cultural divides and deepen global understanding.
